FAQs
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our practice.
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care is a membership-based healthcare model where you pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited access to your primary care provider. This means no surprise bills, no insurance hassles, and more time with your doctor.
How is Honest DPC different?
We skip the middlemen. Instead of billing insurance for every visit or procedure, you pay a monthly membership fee. This allows us to spend more time with each patient, offer same-day or next-day appointments, and provide transparent pricing for additional services.
What does my membership include?
– Unlimited in-person and virtual visits
– Same-day or next-day appointments
– Extended appointment times (30–60 minutes)
– Direct communication with your provider via portal, phone, email, etc.
– Annual physicals, wellness planning, and chronic disease management
– Most in-office procedures included at no extra cost
Do you accept insurance?
No, we don’t bill insurance. Your membership covers all included services directly. You can still use insurance for specialists, hospital care, or medications—just not for our clinic visits.
What if I have a chronic illness?
We provide ongoing management for conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, and more—with same-day access when you need help.
Do you prescribe controlled medications?
We do not prescribe chronic opioids (such as for long-term pain management) or chronic benzodiazepines (such as for long-term anxiety or sleep).
For patient safety, these medicines are best managed by pain management or psychiatry specialists. If you need short-term treatment in certain situations, we can discuss options and help coordinate care with the appropriate specialist.
Can you continue prescriptions started by a specialist?
In most cases, if your condition is stable, then yes. But if a medication needs adjustments or special monitoring, it’s best to keep your specialist involved.
Why don’t you take insurance?
By removing insurance billing, we cut out administrative overhead and inflated costs. That savings allows us to offer longer visits, faster scheduling, and more personalized care.
Is this the same as concierge medicine?
Similar, but more affordable. Concierge practices often charge high annual retainers plus bill insurance. We offer the same accessibility and personal attention at a fraction of the cost, with no hidden fees.
What if I need to go to the hospital or see a specialist?
We’ll help coordinate your care and share your records to make the process seamless. Your membership covers our services, but outside care is billed separately.
Can I join if I’m healthy and rarely see the doctor?
Yes—our goal is to keep you that way. Membership includes preventive care, wellness visits, and urgent care if you ever need it.
Where are you located and what are your hours?
We’re at 2148 N Lake Forest Dr., Suite 308, McKinney, TX 75071—and we see patients by appointment, whenever you need us.
